UNDERSTANDING THE GOOGLE SEARCH
To get better results from google the first thing that we should know is what Google exactly is? Most of us generally make a mistake by thinking it as a software or a page which gives answers to all our questions. And with this thinking, we can’t get the expected and genuine results, so it is necessary to understand the mechanism of google search.
Actually, it is not a software which is understanding your queries and responding accordingly, it’s a series of algorithms.
HOW GOOGLE COLLECT DATA:
Google doesn’t have its own data, it generates data from people and gives it back to people. Google use web crawlers and bots to take information from many web pages and add it in the database that is called as Search Index. Crawler goes on different pages and fetches the information and the also fetch the pages they are linked to. And this process goes on several times. It’s a continuous process where abundant of information is uploaded and downloaded.
NOW WHEN WE SEARCH:
The first thing that they look in your search query is the “keywords” that you are searching for. Then they try to match those words with the information that they have in their Search Index and try to understand the exact string of words they should look for in their database.
The process undergoes several steps from correcting the spelling mistakes to matching the keywords with the latest trends etc. They also try to understand the kind of information you are looking for, e.g. You are writing something with the keyword video, then Google will try to show you the videos on those keywords; Virat Kohli Videos.
So, after a lot of processes google take out those pages which are relevant for your search term, and rank those pages in the search results depending upon many parameters like the number of websites pointing to the page, the number of hits the page is getting and the authenticity of that particular page etc.
It presents the search results with a brief of content inside the page highlighting the keywords included or not included, Title of the page and the link.
So the Searches can be made more effective if we understand this mechanism and use Advance google search keeping this process of Google search in mind.
