Proper planning and innovative ideas should be implemented in this dimension of processing and value addition of perishable commodities. Cold storage and other reliable facilities for storage of the commodities should be addressed with enormous importance. New packages announced by the government are giving us new hopes for a better future.

But this situation of lockdown has clearly traced its implications. In this world of transparency why should the middlemen deprive the farmer of his remunerative price? Concept of privatization of the agricultural markets may create wonders in the future. With an increasing popularity of ecommerce and online agri retail chains, the idea of farm to fork is also achieving newer dimension paving the way for many startups which infact are dreams of the upcoming ambitious youth of the nation. The consumer demand will definitely shift towards the attainment of reliable, good quality and fresh produce wherein new startups have a brighter future ahead. Blaming the deadly virus for all the losses, spite, this lockdown has been an eyeopener for each and every one of us.

Regardless of whether being an individual or an organization its high time to fix our shortcomings and may this be the appropriate time for that. In the midst of the growing concern and benevolence of appreciation towards the selfless and hardworking hands of the farmers across the globe our Indian farmers are waiting for the next season with a hope that the kharif harvest will definitely resolve their grievances.
